  • The Franklin Mineral Museum

    The Franklin Mineral Museum's mission is to preserve the mineral wealth, geology, knowledge, and history of "the greatest mineral locality on earth. The Buckwheat Dump is a 3.5 acre mine dump that has gained world fame; NEW minerals have been discovered here. Open March through November.

  • Friar Mountain Model Railroad Museum

    240 Demarest Rd, Sparta NJ
    Large display of model trains featuring trains that change with the seasons. There are eight trains and two trolley lines running on, through and around the mountain in the fifty foot display area. Open Saturdays & Sundays January through March.

So many important people, including President of the United States Franklin Delano Roosevelt , were ‘entertained’ in this remote landscape, a sanctuary out of the urban.

    What better way to see the local area than from an open cockpit biplane? Rides are available on an appointment and walk-in basis, plane and pilot availability based. Please call to set up an appointment. Ride durations can be as short or long as desired and can be a short, local sightseeing flight or a more "wild", barnstormer aerobatics ride in the local designated aerobatic area. Prices are commensurate with the duration and style of ride but begin at just $60.
