The Innkeepers

Jason & Maryann Jerome

Maryann and Jason Jerome are the third owners of the Wooden Duck Bed and Breakfast. Prior to owning the Inn, Maryann and Jason lived in Brick Township New Jersey where they raised their twin boys Evan and Brian.

Maryann previously worked as a Registered Nurse doing everything from Home Care and Hospital Care to Wound Treatment. While Maryann is proud of the work she did as a nurse her proudest achievement is her time spent as a stay at home Mom raising her sons. Maryann, a lifetime member of the Ocean County Mothers of Multiples club, has servered on the board of that organization and has run many events and fundraisers. She has always enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting parties for family and friends. Maryann is also and avid gardener and even had her gardens featured on the Brick Township Garden Home Tour.

Jason spent 30 years with the same firm since graduating college with degrees is Computer Science and Management Science. Jason worked as a Computer Programmer, Project Manager and eventually Senior Vice President of a health care related software firm. Jason was a private pilot for a time and always found joy in doing stuff around the house. Being handy with a hammer and drill, Jason was always doing maintenance, plumbing, etc and those skills come in handy now-a-days.

Upon their twins graduating college and after 30 years developing software, Jason and Maryann decided to begin a new chapter in their lives doing something they always felt was a natural extension of things they did anyway in their home life. It was truly difficult to leave their home and especially the wonderful perennial gardens Maryann built over the years. Together, they combined their love of hosting family and friends (who often vacationed at their home in Brick) with Maryann's love for decorating, gardening and cooking and choose to fulfil their dream of running a Bed and Breakfast as their next live chapter.

After innkeeper seminars and an intensive search for the right B&B, they found this gem: The Wooden Duck Bed and Breakfast. This Select Registry Inn was a wonderful find. The 10 acres of woodlands, the estate home and amenities together with the amazing array of things to do in the Sussex county area made the choice an easy one.

Maryann and Jason would love to share their next chapter and their Inn with you. Since taking over the inn the reviews from guests have filled their hearts with joy and have reassured them that making this change was the right thing for both of them. They look forward to meeting you!
